Sprue donates alarms to charitable trust

Sprue Safety Products, the manufacturer of fire and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms, has enhanced the CO protection of clients at the East Lothian & Repair Charitable Trust through the donation of 30 CO alarms.

East Lothian Care & Repair Charitable Trust is a Scottish charity that provides direct financial support to older and disabled people who may require adaptations or repairs to their homes.

The charity assists clients who are home owners and private tenants aged 60 and over, or aged 50 and over with a disability, living in East Lothian and who have no other funds available to pay for essential maintenance, adaptations and repairs to the fabric of their homes.

Sprue Safety Products has donated 30 FireAngel CO-9X Carbon Monoxide alarms. The ten year life alarm will alert residents to low level CO emissions from boilers, cookers and other fuel-burning appliances quickly and effectively.

Light and compact in design, the alarm is no bigger than a bar of soap easily fitting onto a shelf and with its audible alert will protect occupants to the presence of carbon monoxide.

Gil Gray, Chairperson at East Lothian & Repair Charitable Trust, said: “For us to be able to continue providing support to older and disabled residents, we rely heavily on the generosity of companies such as Sprue Safety Products and we are very gratful for the support and advice they provide.”
