Scolmore launches new podcast series for on-the-go Electricians

Scolmore Group has announced it will be making some of its SGTV content available through a brand new series of weekly podcasts, enabling electricians to tune in at a time that suits them.

Regular engagement with contractors is how Scolmore gains valuable insight into how electricians like to work and what products and solutions they need to help them do their work in the most time- and cost-efficient way. With the coronavirus pandemic leading to the cancellation or postponement of live events and the restriction of the working patterns of many in the industry, more and more electricians have been relying on SGTV as a valuable platform, Scolmore explained in a recent release. It offers information via interviews, tutorials, challenges, unboxings and product overviews, as well as highlighting key industry news, events and dates for the calendar.

Recent well-known electricians who have shared their views and experiences on the podcast include David Savery, Nick Bundy and Karen Boom, plus some of the industry’s leading talents – Billy Byrne, Tony Cable, Tim Shaw and Thomas Nagy. During lockdown SGTV featured a number of electricians talking about their experiences and how they have managed to keep going through the pandemic.

“The release of material via the SGTV weekly podcast is giving electricians more choice about the way they consume the content they are interested in,” said a Scolmore spokesperson. “The podcasts can be accessed across all streaming devices by searching SGTV. In the launch episode Scolmore talked to Alex from Coleg Cambria and Neil McManus from Leicester College about their experiences working in the electrical educational system and how apprenticeships can help in the career journey. Episode 2 had Paul Chaffers and Richard Townsend from NAPIT and Ryan Dempsey from E5 talking about the new legislation of EICR within the private rented sector. There’s a lot more exciting content in the pipeline and Scolmore welcomes any suggestions for topics that electricians would like to hear about or interviewees they would like to listen to.”
