Institution of Lighting Professionals launches new online training platform

Delivering any face-to-face training during the Covid pandemic is challenging if not impractical. However, lighting professionals still need to keep abreast of latest developments, current thinking and keep their CPD up to date.

The ILP has listened to the ongoing needs of our members and wider professional community by developing an online platform to deliver training courses normally delivered in face-to-face environments. This state-of-the-art resource has the potential to reach those in need of training anywhere in the world, where there is a computer connected to the internet.

Those working from home, vulnerable people self-isolating, those overseas and those that would prefer not to travel in these difficult times now have access to professional development by the ILP.

Initially, 2 of our current one-day courses have been re-designed to be delivered in the first phase, with more content being available over the next month. The content available at the launch are:

· Asset Management Toolkit: Minor Structures (ATOMS) Fundamentals.

· Fundamental Lighting Course.

The aim is for all ILP one-day courses to be available online and other training materials being developed for online delivery.

ILP Vice President Education, Kimberly Bartlett, commented “This is a fantastic resource that I’m so proud of. Its development and the dynamic capability of ILP to react to changing situations is something commendable”.

This facility is available now for lighting professionals, engineers, contractors, planners environmental health officers and anybody involved in lighting.

The platform is open to everyone but if you are an ILP member, you can access courses at a discounted rate.
