EW May issue out now!

The May issue of Electrical Wholesaler has arrived!

As we go to press, Downing Street is hinting that the strict isolation measures we have been upholding so far may be lightened. At the same time, however, experts have warned that tougher isolation and quarantining measures may yet be needed. Uncertainty is still the only certainty we can be sure of.

I was saddened to read that tradespeople carrying out essential work and construction projects have been subject to harassment and verbal abuse. At times like these we should be helping and supporting others, not succumbing to fear and a witch hunt mentality. The CICV Forum has produced a checklist of projects to help the public understand the range of work classified as ‘essential’, to help diffuse the situation.

This issue’s front cover features market-leading provider of a wide range of RCDs GreenBrook. On page 10, they tell us about the thousands of PowerBreaker connection units they supplied to the new Nightingale Hospital at the NEC, Birmingham and the Nightingale Hospital at the Excel Centre, London, to help the people of the UK fight the Coronavirus pandemic.

On page 17, meanwhile, Scolmore’s Marie Parry looks at some of the issues surrounding the supply of electrical products to the healthcare sector, and the role antimicrobial wiring accessories can play in helping to fight infection.

This issue also includes features on warehouse management software and smart home devices, wireless technology, as well as our regular news, views and product innovations, with a number of market-leading businesses sharing their take on the latest trends and movements in the electrical sector.
