The March issue of Electrical Wholesaler is out now!
National Apprentice Week fell within February, and many companies marked it with events, competitions and outreach programs into schools. The Government launched a campaign to highlight apprenticeships to young people.
A recent guide published by the Department for Education and the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) has highlighted the fact that electrical apprenticeships can offer some of the best career prospects for young people. And the benefits go both ways – apprenticeships are essential to the future prospects of the industry, not to mention the Net Zero transition.ย
On that note, we have shared a discussion between leading apprenticeship provider JTL and National Apprentice of the Year 2022 Michelle Robinson on the importance of female role models in the trade industry – you can read more on page 24.
Elsewhere in the issue, intelligent lighting controls specialist Helvar shares some insights on the importance of lighting in the workplace. Lighting is a retrofit that is often overlooked, but that can make a huge difference to worker performance and wellbeing. More on page 30.
On page 18, meanwhile, FireAngelโs Andy Greenhorn discusses the latest legislative updates on carbon monoxide safety that have come into place for England, Wales and Scotland.
Plus, as always, our usual news, views, products and installations from market-leading businesses across the sector, including a look at the upcoming Recolight Remanufacturing Lighting Conference (20), the upcoming trends driving EV charging infrastructure (28) and our cover story, which features Selectric UKโs award-winning accessories and service.
Enjoy the issue!
