City College Brighton secures sponsorship from UK electrical manufacturer

Contactum and City College Brighton and Hove’s Electrical department have struck up a sponsorship partnership which will include the donation of Contactum products enabling students to develop their electrical skills, a range of branded study materials and a Student of the Year Award. As well as raising its profile amongst the next generation of electricians, Contactum will be using the sponsorship deal to create student focus groups on their product lines.

Vince Speck, City College’s Electrical Team Leader says: “This sponsorship deal, which came about thanks to the proactive efforts of our Electrical Worksop Team to forge links with Contactum, is a fantastic development for the College. Not only will our students benefit from learning skills using industry-standard accessories and products, they’ll also be making valuable links with a leading employer in the sector.”

The College has been using Contactum products as part of their syllabus for the past 10 years and the opportunity to replace those items with more modern, industry leading products paved the way to discuss other potential opportunities to support the college.

Neil Clydesdale, Contactum Managing Director said: “Contactum believe this sponsorship is a great opportunity to build a mutually beneficial partnership with a respected educational body and actively work at grass roots level supporting the electrical engineers of tomorrow.”

Contactum has plans to expand the network of college partnerships throughout 2015.
