Bureau Veritas appoints new divisional director for electrical and mechanical

Leading UK compliance, testing and inspection authority, Bureau Veritas has appointed Stephen Lea as the new Divisional Director for its mechanical and electrical divisions.  

Stephen brings with him a wealth of experience split across two very different arena’s, which helps bring a different dynamic to the organisation. His most recent role was working at global public services giant Serco, where he led the internal charge on delivering global IT services. Prior to this, he worked as Director of Operations at Opun, where he played an instrumental role in shaping the start-up business culminating in its John Lewis Partnership. Notably he also led the Virgin Media outsource contract for Fujitsu, leading a large field-based team of circa 1,000 people. 

Now active in his new role at Bureau Veritas, Stephen will assume full responsibility for the business’ expansive electrical and mechanical divisions in line with its progressive 2023 business plan. Heading up a 350-strong team of industry experts, his remit will be to ensure continued operational and customer service excellence, while placing a more considered approach on employee development and curating a culture of possibility to deliver growth.
