Osram again among the most sustainable companies

Osram will be included in the internationally renowned Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the second time in a row.

Following a detailed analysis of various sustainability criteria, the lighting company has again achieved a top ranking within the “Electrical Components & Equipment” industry.

The analysis was conducted by RobecoSAM, the Swiss investment company that reviews the composition of the index each year on behalf of S&P Dow Jones Indices.

“The fact that we are included in this important index again is a demonstration of our commitment in the area of sustainability,” said Klaus Patzak, Chief Financial Officer of OSRAM Licht AG.

The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index was established in 1999. Members meet material sustainability criteria in the economic, environmental, and social areas.

In the course of the assessment, the world’s largest companies by market capitalization are rated with regard to their performance in the field of sustainability. For investors, the index is an important gauge of the development of the most sustainably managed companies in the world.
