Megaman’s Kerry wins national education and training award

Kerry Simms, Business Development Manager at Megaman, celebrated in style at London’s iconic The Shard after receiving a Learning Achievement Award 2018 from the Electrical Distributors’ Association (EDA).

The annual awards, selected from members of the EDA, recognises the learners who have impressed their assessors and managers most during their one-year apprenticeships.

Kerry Simms, who has recently been appointed to the role of Business Development Manager at Megaman, received the award for being the highest achiever in the UK who completed the Fundamentals of Electricity MOL course delivered by the EDA – receiving three distinctions in the process.

“I’m extremely proud to win this award,” said Kerry. “The Fundamentals of Electricity MOL course has helped me take my knowledge of the lighting industry to the next level. I hope that this success inspires others to follow in my footsteps and contribute to the continuing professionalism of the industry.”

Kerry’s manager, Gareth Petley, Sales & Marketing Director at Megaman said: “I’ve been really impressed with Kerry’s attitude since starting at Megaman. She is motivated, naturally inquisitive and has a real passion for the industry.”

The EDA offers members access to an Education & Training programme which includes distance learning, product knowledge training and apprenticeships.
