C.E.D. have recently installed their own Integrating Sphere (pictured) in the company’s laboratory in Dagenham, in order to verify the photometric and electrical parameters of all Meridian branded lamps against data provided by their appointed manufacturers.

Jayanti Velani, C.E.D.’s Technical Director, explained that their sphere is designed to measure the total luminous flux, luminous colour, wattage, voltage and spectra distribution of Meridian products.

The system accommodates most lamp types, including incandescent, HID, fluorescent and, of course, LED and the whole measurement system features an integrating sphere, calibrated lamp standard, precision power supply and display unit. When used in conjunction with C.E.D.’s radio spectrometer, the sphere delivers the highest available photometer accuracy.

According to C.E.D., the installation of this equipment is “another major investment and step forward by the company to support their Meridian LED lighting brand”.
