R&B Star, the independent and family run electrical wholesaler based in Kent and London has achieved the FORS Silver Accreditation.

The company has been working alongside FORS, the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme for a number of years and says it is proud to have been awarded the Silver Accreditation.

R&B Star discovered the FORS accreditation when tendering for large contracts in London. The scheme which encompasses safety, fuel efficiency, vehicle emissions and improved operations fits well with the company’s values and is something everyone at R&B Star is committed to.

Craig Robertson, Compliance Manager, said: “FORS Silver demonstrates our commitment to good practice and enables us to support our customers on important projects. FORS has helped our approach to fleet management, staff development, and given us access to relevant training. We are now working towards FORS Gold.”

Craig has also undertaken training with FORS to become a FORS Practitioner. The practitioner training covers nine units from managing work-related road safety, safe and efficient fleet management to monitoring and measuring road fleet performance. FORS also ensures companies are kept up to date with industry developments and best practice in safe, green and efficient operations.

R&B Star has also ensured that all drivers receive the most comprehensive training available and through FORS, they have completed the Van Smart Training course.

This course, which is endorsed by DVSA, aims to create long-term behaviour changes by bringing about professionalism amongst drivers. The day course consists of a theory and practical module and provided R&B Star’s drivers with the knowledge, skills and tools to ensure they are safe, diligent, more efficient and professional drivers.
