Electrical firm switches on new branch in Watford

An award-winning wholesale electrical distributor, based in Colnbrook, is expanding into Watford following its acquisition of a trade supply business in Croxley Business Park.

Rapid Electrical Distributors, started by St Albans entrepreneur Nick Edwell in 2004, which counts Crossrail as one of its clients, has merged with Watford Electrical Solutions, that’s traded from Greenhill Crescent for over 15 years.

Having rebranded its unit Rapid Electrical (Watford), the business employs six staff.

Commenting on the expansion, MD Nick Edwell, said: “Watford represents an extremely good opportunity for our business to develop thanks to its connections and the thriving diversity of companies operating from Croxley Business Park and surrounding areas.”

Steve Charalambous, who worked with Nick Edwell some 18 years ago, started Watford Electrical Solutions in 2001 and continues as Manager of Rapid Electrical (Watford).
