AW Electrical marathon runners help two great good causes

Anthony Oliveri, a company director at AW Electrical Suppliers, in Great Cambridge Road, Enfield, tackled two marathons in two days during a testing charity challenge in Iceland.

The Laugavegurinn Trail covered 56 miles, with wilderness camping under the sun. At the time of the trek, Iceland had an average temperature of just 10 degrees Centigrade, with 22 hours of daylight each day.

AW Electrical Director, Bill Oliveri told EW: “I wanted to tell you about my brother and fellow company owner’s exploits over the last few months, raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society. It’s a charity close to our hearts as our nan suffers with Vascular Dementia.”

Anthony raised more than £3,500 for the charity and followed up his fund raising efforts by taking part in the Great North Run with colleague, Tim Cunningham.

Together, they raised £600, with Tim donating his half to Guide dogs for the blind.
