having worked in the electrical industry and seen a lot of innovative products over the years.the new range of v-pro inteligent dimmer is long overdue. problem im finding is suppliers carrying them,or even being able to pair up led and dimmer compatability.hence my own adventure on the internet to learn for myself. i used a lot of the older varilight products and spoke with a tech person yrs ago. and the guidance i was given was first class.

this is why i went straight to varilights website for my guidance this time. I am looking at promoting led technology this year as opposed to thelow voltage with soft start transformers ive used as a tried and tested lighting scheme for my customers. going down the led route is also faster for installation times and no popping lights out of ceilings for transformer replacement(although a rare event as i always used good quality stuff) a product selection chart with a drop down menu would be a good tool or a printable chart covering lamp ranges to match dimmers would be good for the public as well. its a bit heavy reading and referencing all the vaariables as a spark never mind the competent diy person who wants to chose green. many of my customers chose dimming for mood lighting etc and this leads to multiple dimmer modules to share load, but the earlier and poorer quality led lamps didnt offer dimmer compatability.now i can offer conversion with a quality dimmer at a reasonable cost as ive been sourcing products at a better cost online as the wholesalers i deal with seem to be way out on price structures.

In the on site guide to BS 7671 wiring regulations 17th edition sect 7.5.2 it states there is an advantage in wiring to a regularly used lighting circuit and also adds that it should be able to isolate the smoke alarm system without affecting the lighting circuit. So much for using the lighting circuit to confirm that there is supply to the alarm system. It also states that the alarm system can be permanently wired with an independent circuit from the distribution board. Is this where the “falsehood” emanates from?

I rarely comment, but i did a few searching and wound up here What to look for in LED ceiling
luminaires. And I actually do have a couple of questions
for you if it’s allright. Is it only me or does it look like a few of the responses look like they are left by brain dead individuals? And, if you are writing on additional places, I would like to keep up with anything fresh you have to post. Could you list of the complete urls of all your community pages like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?

solar energy panles can capture the suns energy, to transfer to electricity hook the panel to a 12 volt voltage regulator and then to a automotive 12 volt battery.To use the electricity hook up a voltage regulator to the battery then hook a toggle switch to the voltage regulator positive wire feed, on the other end of the regulator hook up a 12 volt appliance or light bulb, grounded of course.

Why would you want to dim them. They are going to be inferior lumen outp[ut and light distribution campared to a fluorescent already dimming them will just reduce this further.

Workplace safety regarding electrical installations is a serious matter which has been highlighted by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) revised guidance on maintaining electrical portable appliances in low risk environments. Whilst I deal usually with riskier working environments I’m pleased to see that this action is making a significant contribution to electrical safety everywhere.

As a fellow UK manufacturer I applaud Richard and his comments, personally I would welcome some form of collective campaign to highlight what is made in the UK, aimed at the the installers. We are good at this, companies like Super Rod and Ellis may not catch everyones eye, but we pride ourselves on making world class products. I don't know a whole lot about electricians, but this seems like this is a really good idea, especially since it's all volutary. This way, people would be able to know that they can be trusted to do the work, and it doesn't cost the electricians anything! It's a win-win situation!

Am I right in thinking that we cannot enter via the web and have to print out this web page on paper, fill in the relevant section by hand then find an envelope write out the address, put a stamp on it, take it to a post box and hope the letter arrives at the correct address a few days later?
Wouldn’t an on line entry encourage more people to enter, not cost the price of a sheet of paper and stamp and more importantly be a lot greener!
